Trouble Shooting

1. What litters do we recommend?

a.We do recommend using litters with the diameter less than 6mm.

b.If the particles are too large, litters cannot smoothly pass the screen, which will cause a waste of litters.

c.We do not recommend to use long-strip Tofu litters, because it cannot smoothly pass the screen.

d.We do not recommend to use corn litters, because it is too light and would fall into the waste drawer when the machine is scooping.

2. If the indicator light keeps flashing.

a.This may be the issue of a defective adapter.

b.Please take a short video via support@furoomate.com for help.

3. If there is no indicator light on the button panel.

a.Please confirm your litter box is plugged into the adapter and the switch is turned on (at the bottom of the back of the machine).

4. If the machine could not rotate in the Auto mode.

a.Please confirm the indicator light of Auto and Status light up.

b.Please confirm your machine is placed on hard floor instead of carpet. Please following all steps to test your machine below:

i.Place the machine on a level and flat table.

ii.Put an object heavier than 1kg into the drum (preferably a 3-4kg item to simulate the weight of a real cat) more than 30 seconds.
Then, remove the item out.

iii.Wait 5 minutes and observe whether the drum is rotating.

c.If the drum still does not rotate, please contact support@furoomate.com for further helps.

5. How to adjust Auto to Manual mode?

a.We recommend that older cats, kittens and introverted cats to use manual mode to get used to the machine

b.How to adjust modes?

i.Long press Lock and Pause 3s to unlock all buttons

ii.Press Manual

iii.Press Scoop

iv.Tips: the machine will lock automatically again if there is no any operations within 5 minutes. It aims to prevent accidents by cats or kids.

6. What should I do if the drum gets stuck half way?

a. If the Status indicator light is yellow:
i. You can ignore it, and the drum will automatically resume.

ii. What causes this problem?
1. The density of litter is too high (too heavy for the same volume compared to other litters).
2. The motor itself is abnormal, and the current is too high.
3. Too much litter is stuck in the tracks and the part of the motor connection.
All these reasons will cause the current to increase, so the machine will activate over-current protection, causing the drum to get stuck halfway.

iii. How to solve it?
1. We recommend pouring less than 5kg of litter into the drum, no matter what type or brand of litter.
2. Clean the tracks and the part of the motor connection regularly to reduce resistance.

b. If the Status indicator light is red:
i. Switch the machine off and on; the drum will resume.

ii. Why is the light red?
The machine’s protection was triggered too many times in a short period, causing the indicator light to turn red, and then the machine got stuck.

iii. How to solve it?
Same as the yellow indicator light solutions.

iv. If the problem cannot be solved, please contact support@furoomate.com for further assistance.

7. The drum dumps all litters when the drum rotates.

a.Please confirm these magnets are installed properly. (Click the link to view the image.)

b.Please confirm whether the screen and drum are completely closed and the magnets are detached or not. This may cause leakage of litters.(Click the link to view the image.)

8. How to disassemble the screen?

Please contact support@furoomate.com for tutorial video.

9.If your cat refuses to use the Furoomate litter box.

This is a common problem for all brands of automatic litter boxes, especially for families who have never used automatic litter boxes. This is because some cats are very timid and it takes some time for them to adapt.

10.How to make cats adapt to the Furoomate litter box faster?

a. We recommend your cat to use Manual mode. When the cat is used to the litter box, it can be switched to automatic mode at the appropriate time.

b. We recommend placing your Furoomate litter box near the old litter box. Do not take away the old litter box and force your cat to use the automatic one, as your cat is likely to urinate or poop everywhere;

c. Place some used cat litter in the Furoomate litter box to let your cat get used to the familiar smell.

If your cat still refuses to use the Furoomate litter box, please contact support@furoomate.com for further helps.
